Currently in production are CEFX's newest 12th and 10th WGT cars. Not to be confussed with our previous Phoenix t-bar cars, the Griffin is now a link based car to adapt to the needs of 1S Lipo racing.
The Griffin 12 has already seen great success in only a prototype form at the 2009 ROAR Carpet Nationals. TQing and finising 2nd in the 1/12 Modified division showed the early potential of the car. With the switch to 1S Lipo coming, we left the prototype in tact for the IIC where it once again lead the field with a solid TQ over some of the biggest teams and even the defending IFMAR World Champion. Once again though, we settled for a 2nd place finish but with the experience from the event, we had the knowledge to make the needed adjustments and create the Griffin. Changes to side link position, wheel base, battery position, shock mounting position and leverage all were put into place to make this the most refined 12th car on the market for 1S Lipo racing!!
Last year, the Phoenix 10 WGT car was nearly perfect winning 3 Grand Slam events and the overall Championships, the Novak Race and ROAR Carpet Nationals. The only blemish was a runner-up spot at the Snowbird Nationals. Once again, evolving for the 1S Lipo racing CEFX introduces the Griffin 10 WGT car. A prototype of this car was also ran at this years IIC and while it still produced a podium finish the combination of 1S Lipo and new link rear end, podium isn't good enough when you want to be on top so it went back to the drawing board. Changes to side link position, wheel base, battery position, shock mounting position, leverage and body post positions all were adjusted to improve balance, drivability and corner speed. Now, it's ready for production and to go after the schedule of races in 2009 and into 2010!!
Both the CEFX Griffin 12 and Griffin 10 are being sold as a conversion kit. We will update a full part listing of what you will need to complete each car very soon. A short production run will be ready October 26th with main production coming hopefully before the 2nd weekend in November.
With the release of the Lithium 10 and now the Griffin 12 and Griffin 10 WGT we are now ready for a great 2009-2010 indoor season!!
