At the BRL Finals at Trackside Hobbies, Corey Heft nearly ran away with the entire weekend by TQing both 10.5 and 13.5 COT, winning both mains and nearly beating Snowbirds COT Champion Brian Deel in the All Star Shoot-Out on Saturday night.
The BRL Finals ended up being a great event for CEFX with of course Corey's TQ's and wins plus Brian's All Start win and BRL points Champion but a lot of other CEFX racers had a great weekend at the race. Mike Makus was outside front row with Corey in 10.5 but had bad luck in the final and Travis Russell had his best run of the year with a podium finish in 10.5. In COT, Jamie Tennies had some troubles in qualifying with his speedo but managed to get up into the top 5 in qualifying with I think one of the fastest cars in the building but a lap two crash in the main put him out early.
Overall, a great weekend and a great year of BRL racing. Congrats to all the winners and champions!!
For the TOUR Finals in Greeneville, I forgot the camera plus it was still messed up from the BRL Finals so really all the pictures I took there weren't very good. Reguardless, it was another amazing weekend of racing for us. Corey Heft and Brian Deel continued with their sucess from the Birds, BRL and brought it to the TOUR Finals where they again wrapped up TQ's, wins and TOUR Championships. In 7.5, I arrived late but dropped down a pre-production version of the new CEFX 1/10 oval car for next season and was able to qualify outside front row with only 3 short runs of practice!! The final was a dice with some bumpin and bangin where I chewed up the RR tire but even with that I lead till the 2 minute mark until it really came a part and I had to drop back and settle for 3rd.
Another great weekend of racing with strong results for CEFX racers!! Perfect way to end the season - Snowbirds wins and podiums, BRL Championships, TOUR Championships, All Star Shoot-Out Champion.... Really, we couldn't ask for anymore!! Congrats to all the CEFX racers for an amazing season!!
